چکیده

The objective of the study was to determine optimal density fingerlings Nile tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus) culture in floating cages with respect growth performance and know effect temperature on during winter period. Tilapia (mean weight 8.5 ± 0.36 g) were stocked at densities 120, 180 360 fish/m3 for 10 weeks. During culture, fish fed a diet contains 35% protein made peanut seed, cottonseed, wheat bran, Sorghum. results showed that increase reduced final fish. percentage increased reached 111% 1.45% lowest (120 fish/m3), 79% 1.87% medium (240 63% 2.03% high (360 therefore daily rate better density. food conversion ratio also 2.17 0.33, followed by 2.79 0.28 then highest 3.09 0.21. However, total production cage increasing density, return cost higher According various evaluation criteria, it can be concluded 240 is best growing cages. It observed rates three treatments low due decrease water most period, which may indicate useless season.

Heterogeneous growth fingerlings of the Nile tilapia Oreochromis niloticus: effects of density and initial size variability.

In this study, the effect of initial heterogeneity of weight and density on heterogeneous growth (HetG) evaluated by the coefficient of the variation of weight in the young Nile tilapia Oreochromis niloticus of the territorial species was tested. Fish were maintained in a glass aquarium (8 and 2 L of water) with two levels of initial heterogeneity of weight: low and high, under two density cond...

Effect of Dietary α-Cellulose Levels on the Growth Parameters of Nile Tilapia Oreochromis niloticus Fingerlings

Three purified diets were formulated using fish meal, soya bean, wheat flour, palm oil, minerals and maltose. The carbohydrate in the diets was increased from 5 to 15% by changing the cellulose content to study the effect of dietary carbohydrate level on the growth parameters of Nile tilapia Oreochromis niloticus. The protein and the lipid contents were kept constant in all the diets. The resul...

Extensive Net Cage Culture of Nile Tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus) Fingerlings in Nutrient-enriched Pond

To investigate the potential of extensive net cage culture for Nile tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus) fingerlings, an experiment was conducted in net cages suspended in a fertilized pond. Mixed-sex population of Nile tilapia with an average initial body weight of 0.065 g was used to stock in experimental cages. Four treatments; non added-substrate without supplemental feeding (NSNF), non added-su...

Isolation and molecular identification of the etiological agents of streptococcosis in Nile tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus) cultured in net cages in Lake Sentani, Papua, Indonesia

Infections with Streptococcus spp. were observed in Nile tilapia cultured in net cages in Lake Sentani, Papua, Indonesia. Clinical signs included exophthalmia, erratic swimming, ascites in abdominal cavity, and external hemorrhages. Four types of bacterial colonies (SK, K10, P20, and M12) were isolated from the brain, kidney, and eyes. Based on phenotypic and genetic (16S rDNA sequencing) chara...
